The slow workout and why I love it.

There are 2 big reasons I love slowing down my and my community's workouts, and focusing on the techniques.

The first reason is the mind muscle connection- which I talk about lots. If you'd like to know more about how simply adding the mind muscle connection to your workouts, has evidence supporting that it can help you lose and extra kgs without changing anything else, send me a DM @gymandtonicmovement.

In this blog I want to talk about the second reason.

I have such a busy mind, it's always grinding and calculating and planning and rarely switches off- which as a woman I'm sure you're the same.

When I train I can force my brain to slow down, breathe and focus on one thing which is my technique.

My mind gets a break from spinning, my body gets a break from being tense and I can help reduce the cortisol (stress hormone) running through my body.

We all have such hectic lives, and if you're someone who feels constantly stressed and like they don't have enough time to work out, I encourage you to do one small, slow workout today and just see how much better you feel.

A good workout does not always have to be a high intensity smash session to feel good.

Like everything, balance is key to longevity.
