My second to last best tip for stress management..



Breath work!

Unless you've been living under a rock, and you may very well have been with an anxiety disorder šŸ˜‚, but also if you have an anxiety disorder you're more likely to have heard or been recommended breath work.

Breath work works because as you take your deep belly & rib breaths your body gets flooded with oxygen, triggering your parasympathetic to calm down. The cascades into a reduction in cortisol (our stress hormone), calms the heart rate and blood pressure, improves focus, aids sleep and overall just improves life.

Ā 

I love taking deep breaths at random times through the day so I can experience the bliss of calm. Lots of time I will include box breathing too, ot get even more out of the breathwork.

Ā 

Box breathing is when you breath in for a count of 4, hold your breath for a count of 4, breath out for a count of 8 and hold for a count of 4. The repeat that process ideally 10 times, but sometime just 3-4 can be beneficial.

So take this as your reminder to take some deep breaths and see how good you feel!
