It's not what you think..

You probably think I'm going to tell you to stretch after a work out to help your muscles, but that's not the main reason why I think you should stretch afterwards. 🧠
When we exercise we put our bodies under stress, and generally this is a good thing for many reasons. But when you're constantly under stress, which i think is safe to assume you are, your body doesn't get a break from those stress hormones and they wreak havoc on your body. 💪
When you take the opportunity to stretch, slow down and take some deep breaths your body can have a break from the chaos inside and reduce the stress hormones racing through your body. 🧘♀️
This means you'll actually get the benefits of exercise and working out while doing your body & brain a favour simply by dedicating 5-10mins at the end to slow down and sit, stretch and rest before you move on.
And don't forget to eat your protein and carbs after a workout to help your body repair and don't put it under any more stress! 🥩 🍞
Do the things you can control to help your stress, instead of feeling like shit.
